Freeform Fiberglass Pools: Comparisons and Ratings

Fiberglass Pool Information  |  Fiberglass Pool Manufacturers  |  Pool Design Guides  |  Swimming Pool Design

Are you in the market for a freeform fiberglass pool and looking for the perfect model for your family? You aren't alone. As manufacturers and installers of inground fiberglass swimming pools, we at River Pools have a unique determination to help homeowners (like you!) to find your perfect pool—whether that means choosing us or not.

We think you're awesome, and we want you to have all the information. But not only that, we want you to feel like you've made the right choice as you look out at your backyard and enjoy your swimming pool for years to come.

Choosing a freeform pool isn't necessarily easy. For example, it can be hard to gauge simply by looking at plans on a paper. Depending on the shape and size, it can also be difficult to conform your patio and landscaping to the pool.

All that to say, being informed matters. Hence this article.

Today we'll explain and show some of the top freeform shapes from a handful of the main manufacturers in the industry. At the end, we'll show you some of our freeform shapes as well.

This way, you'll know all your options and choose the perfect pool to make you and your family happy for years to come.

What to look for in a freeform fiberglass pool

In this article, we'll rate and compare freeform fiberglass pools according to the following categories:

  • Play: The amount of play area as well as the depth of the pool
  • Exercise: How the pool works with lap swimming
  • Socializing: Layout and size of the seating area
  • Open swim space: In terms of value, how much actual pool you're getting for your money
  • Tanning ledge: Whether each model has one or not
  • "Curve" appeal: The design aesthetic

Now let’s see how these models stack up!

Other options for fiberglass pools

If these freeform pool models interest you and you’d like to see more, you can also take a look at our designs here at River Pools. The C and O designs merge “curve appeal” with open swim space. The C line has a spacious tanning ledge, and both models include seats in the deep end.

On the other hand, you may decide that freeform doesn’t suit you as well as a linear design… and that’s fine! Fiberglass pools offer plenty of shapes and sizes, and you’ll likely be able to find one that fits you just right. Our D Series, L36, or R Series designs might be more up your alley.

At River Pools we manufacture both freeform and linear fiberglass pools which are available through our nationwide dealer network. We also install pools in Virginia and Maryland.
